What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menorflexion; Alpha-Betting Resilience

Yesterday saw the letter "R" in the Martha Simpson affirmation alphabet. (Please note that this series has been given its own label here, of 'ABReflctions'.)

With the letter "S" we are asked to put ourselves into nature and look for something to provide us with a sense of awe. I often do see the sunrise and always, the sunset. Several nights recently I have observed the other planets in our solar system. But I get the same sense of wonder watching the bees gathering pollen, watching blossoms scatter in the breeze... watching the rain address the earth...

  1. I have seen many beautiful sunrises here in NC...but what I recall immediately when reading S today is
the Midnight Sun in Fairbanks, AK May 2005. Now if only we had been their for the Northern lights in January.
    Hugs to you and Dad

  2. Sunrise is such a beautiful and peaceful time. It can be a very calming way to start the day, and then of course, the same is true of sunset, a glorious way to say good night to the day.

  5. Kaikoura made F's eyes go wet. She used to work there over 40 years ago; on the mountains behind where they could daily look out on that coastline.

  6. I'll take the sunrise as a symbol and a sign... like the sun comes back every morning , good things will come and they both will shine...

  9. I sat in my car for 10 minutes last Saturday morning outside the Walmart store watching the sunrise over the parking lot full of cars and the horizon. I let others go inside in front of me because I wanted to see the sun come up. I did take a few pictures but it was with my cell phone so they aren't very good. But there's just something about watching that Sky change that is so peaceful it is also at the same with the sun going down but I rarely see that

  11. There aren't many surprises around here! Well, my fish tank was leaking. That was a surprise!
OK, I just reread it. It's 'sunrise!' Oh, Yam. What a couple of days I've had. Nothing like yours, but my poor wee brain. I spilled my coffee this morning, too!

  13. After a new set of tires for the Jeep, we spent several hours on Wednesday riding backroads in the Hill Country of Central Texas. Windows out, doors off and perfect weather made the day a soul refresher. namaste, janice xx
