What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menorflexion; Alpha-Betting Resilience

Yesterday saw the letter "X" in the Martha Simpson affirmation alphabet. (Please note that this series has been given its own label here, of 'ABReflctions'.)

"Y"ou have been the focus of this month's posts! It can sometimes feel a little bit selfish, if you have not been brought up to think about yourself this much. However, the modern world demands that we all understand that unless we look after ourselves first, how can we properly look after others?

  1. Oh this Y might be my favorite...post. Thank you for this month of reflection ending with YOU is perfect
One has to look after one's self so that one can be up for all that comes our way.

  3. Too often we all tend to forget ourselves. Thanks for the reminder. It's been very rewarding following along through the affirmation alphabet.

  7. Y is also for yoga. This year because of lifes imposed restrictions i have taken up online yoga (yoga with Adrienne). Her practice is very much about the YOU, and building self-belief; the you are woth it believe in yourself. (That brings to mind a certain cosmtic company advertising slogan, which couldn't be further from the point of this resilience conversation, really.)

  8. I feel at times that over the past year I have had way too much time to 'naval gaze'. But that may be why I have not fallen victim to oh, whoa is me during the pandemic. I have read more books in the past 15 months than the previous 10 years. Add to the pandemic the fact that my voice was almost silent for long periods of time self care and reflection was almost the only options. Thanks for being there during those times. namaste, janice xx
